Installations Supervisor – Avionic

Description/Overall purpose of the Job

This a certifying role reporting to the Installation and Production Manager. To maintain the safety and airworthiness and helicopters within the Installations department whilst being customised and maintained.

Main responsibilities

  • This a certifying role reporting to the Installation and Production Manager
  • Working closely with the supervisory team to ensure all projects receive the correct support, thereby ensuring project completion to be on time and on budget.
  • Will be required to delegate tasks to those within the team
  • Oversee all work to ensure compliance with the appropriate data and where necessary over sign the work that has been delegated
  • Liaise closely with the project management and design office teams
  • Oversee the day to day running of the avionic team and hangar
  • Maintain good levels of communication inside and outside the department for project progress and developments
  • Ensure that good practices of H&S are maintained and that appropriate PPE for each task is being used
  • Uphold and enforce the hangar rules
  • Oversee the installation of modifications and changes in accordance with approved data from Airbus Helicopters UK Ltd or from third party STC holders.
  • Uphold standards and work within the organisations manufacturing CAA Part 21G and Part 145 scope of approvals

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years’ aviation experience
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Knowledge of CAA Part 21G Production, Part 145 Maintenance and Part 21J Design approvals.
  • Ability to accurately interpret detailed wiring diagrams and associated data
  • Have recent experience of manufacturing wiring looms including terminating of connectors and carrying continuity testing
  • Recent experience of on and off aircraft soldering and crimping techniques
  • Knowledge of the use of specialist test equipment related to electrical and avionic systems
  • Ability to use Google Office, SAP and MS products

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential

  • Completed a formal aviation apprenticeship
  • Hold a CAA Part 66 B2 license
  • Type ratings for the following an advantage

H125 (AS350)

H130

H135 (EC135)

H145 (BK117)

  • Initial Human Factors training
  • Leadership Training

  • Flexible with a positive approach and genuine enthusiasm for the role.
  • Reliable with the ability to remain calm when under pressure.
  • Well organized and methodical – paying attention to detail.

Additional requirements 

  • Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and SC clearance.
  • Applicants must meet any/all requirements of Export Compliance Regulations.

  • Shift working as part of a normal working pattern
